Mr. Peterson was recently appointed Director of the National Research Council's (Canada) Rail R&D group. He is a Railway (Civil) Engineer with more than 20 years' experience. Work history includes a broad base of North American and international assignments with hands-on supervisory roles in maintenance, construction and design. A self-directed career objective to make an impact in the rail industry has provided this track engineer with a relatively unique ability to assess planning, design, construction and maintenance approaches from life cycle, serviceability, maintainability, and safety perspectives.
